Former Mayor, Cedric B. Glover, announced on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 that Bank On Shreveport had exceeded it’s first year’s goal of accounts opened.

Bank On Shreveport was created about a year ago to encourage at least 2,700 unbanked individuals to open checking and savings accounts over the next three years. The original first year goal of Bank On Shreveport was to open 678 accounts. Based off the data collection report for 2014 prepared by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, 904 accounts were opened as a result of the program.
